Billionaire Elon Musk has stirred controversy after alleging that rapper Eminem attended a party thrown by music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently facing serious criminal charges. Diddy was indicted last month on three counts, including sexual abuse and coercion of women into drug-fueled sex parties. The charges, which also include racketeering, stem from accusations that he used threats and violence to orchestrate these gatherings.
Elon Musk’s claims came just days after Eminem made headlines for introducing former US president Barack Obama at a rally for Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign in Detroit. The rapper’s support for the Democratic party stands in contrast to Elon Musk’s endorsement of Harris’ Republican rival, Donald Trump, in the upcoming US presidential election on November 5.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), which Elon Musk owns, the billionaire responded to an unrelated claim about Eminem with the remark, “Yet another Diddy party participant,” suggesting that Eminem had attended one of Diddy’s controversial parties. This comment quickly drew backlash from Eminem’s fanbase.
Sean Combs, widely known as “Diddy,” was arrested last month and charged with sex trafficking and racketeering. The allegations against him have been mounting since last year, when singer Cassie accused him of subjecting her to over a decade of physical and emotional coercion, culminating in a 2018 rape. Diddy has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and his trial is scheduled to begin on May 5, 2025.
Elon Musk’s insinuation that Eminem was involved in Diddy’s notorious parties sparked outrage among the rapper’s fans, many of whom were quick to defend him. Several pointed out that Eminem has had a long-standing feud with Diddy, making it highly unlikely that he would have attended any of the music mogul’s events.
“Eminem never attended and has always been against Diddy. Do your research, Elon Musk ,” wrote one fan on X. Another added, “Eminem has been dissing Diddy since 1996. This accusation makes no sense.”
Fans also noted that Eminem’s latest album, The Death of Slim Shady, is widely seen as a veiled critique of Diddy, further distancing the rapper from the music mogul’s scandal.
As the backlash against Elon Musk’s comments continues to grow, Eminem’s supporters are demanding a retraction from the tech billionaire for what they view as an unfounded accusation against the rapper.
