Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is currently leading in the initial vote counts for the Lok Sabha constituencies of Wayanad in Kerala and Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh, as the counting for the 2024 general elections begins.
In Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi, the sitting MP, is ahead by 103 votes. In Raebareli, a traditional Congress stronghold, he is leading over BJP rival Dinesh Pratap Singh in the early stages of postal ballot counting.
In Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi faces competition from BJP candidate and Kerala party chief K Surendran, as well as veteran CPI leader Annie Raja.
Exit polls suggest that Rahul Gandhi is well-positioned to secure another term in Wayanad.
In Raebareli, the candidate roster also includes Thakur Prasad Yadav from the Bahujan Samaj Party.
