Taking to the microblogging site, HD Kumaraswamy said on X, “The news of the tragic clash near Hathras in Uttar Pradesh, resulting in the deaths of more than 87 people, has deeply saddened me. May eternal peace be granted to the souls of the deceased, and may God give strength to their families to bear this grief. I hope the injured recover swiftly.”

According to Chaitra V, Commissioner of Aligarh, the latest death toll has risen to 116 and the number of injured is 18 in the tragic incident.

“116 people have been confirmed dead. 18 people are injured. Treatment is being ensured for the injured in Aligarh district. Primary investigation is being carried out,” she said.

Aligarh IG Shalabh Mathur said, “Dead bodies have been sent to various places for post-mortem. We are trying to give the best possible treatment to the injured. FIR is also being registered. The organizers of the event will be included in the FIR because more than the permitted number of people had come to attend the event.
