A tragic incident unfolded in Bangladesh as a fire ravaged a multi-storey building in the capital city of Dhaka, claiming the lives of at least 43 individuals, according to the country’s health minister.
Reports indicate that the fire broke out in a restaurant located within the building complex around 10:00 PM local time on Thursday. Despite swift emergency response efforts, the blaze quickly spread through the structure, leading to extensive casualties.
While 75 individuals were successfully rescued from the inferno, numerous others sustained injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. Sadly, the death toll continues to rise as authorities assess the aftermath of the tragedy.

Furthermore, 22 individuals remain in critical condition, highlighting the severity of the incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with initial speculation suggesting a potential gas leak or stove-related accident, as stated by Brigadier General Main Uddin, the head of the Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence.
The building, which houses the Kacchi Bhai restaurant along with other commercial establishments such as clothing and mobile phone shops, witnessed a harrowing scene as flames engulfed the structure, leaving devastation in its wake.
As authorities work to determine the exact cause of the blaze, the nation mourns the loss of lives and grapples with the aftermath of yet another devastating fire disaster.
