LJP (Ram Vilas) Chief Chirag Paswan, following his induction into Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government as a Union Minister, expressed gratitude and affirmed his commitment to earnestly carry out his responsibilities.
In a statement, Chirag Paswan conveyed his appreciation to PM Modi for entrusting him with the significant role. “This is a tremendous responsibility for me… I pledge to discharge this duty with utmost sincerity and dedication,” he remarked, as reported by news agency ANI.
Highlighting the government’s focus on schemes for the welfare of the underprivileged over the past decade, Chirag Paswan emphasized his intent to continue this trajectory to bridge socio-economic disparities. “We will advance with the aim of narrowing the gap between the affluent and the impoverished, and between rural and urban areas,” he affirmed.
Chirag Paswan secured a resounding victory in the Hajipur Lok Sabha constituency of Bihar, triumphing over RJD’s Shiv Chandra Ram by a margin of over 1.70 lakh votes.
PM Modi’s cabinet reshuffle also saw the inclusion of seven MPs from Bihar, with four from allied parties, in what is perceived as a move to balance caste equations ahead of the state’s upcoming assembly elections. Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra also received notable representation in the new council of ministers.
