The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is nearing the deadline for schools to submit the List of Candidates (LOC) for the Class 10 and 12 Board examinations for the academic year 2024-2025. The submission of the LOC is a mandatory process for all schools to register eligible students for the upcoming board exams. According to an official release from CBSE, the last date to submit the LOC with the normal fee is October 4, 2024, leaving schools only a few days to complete the process.
The CBSE had earlier issued a circular outlining the procedures for submitting the correct data and subject information for each student. The circular emphasized the importance of accurate submissions, urging schools to ensure that all student data, including subjects being offered, are submitted correctly and within the stipulated time frame. Failure to submit the LOC on time could result in students being unable to sit for their respective board examinations.
In its communications to school principals, the CBSE emphasized the importance of adhering to the submission schedule and urged schools to follow the guidelines closely. School heads were instructed to generate a report confirming that the LOC submission was completed in accordance with the board’s directions. This step is intended to ensure compliance with the CBSE’s procedural requirements and avoid any discrepancies that could affect students’ eligibility for the exams.
The official circular, titled “LOC Circular No.CBSE/LOC/X-XI/2024-25/7667/E-File-163685 dated 04.09.2024,” outlined three key points for schools to follow: submit the correct student data, submit the correct subjects being offered by students, and submit the LOC within the prescribed deadline. The circular stressed that no leniency would be granted to schools failing to meet the deadline.
In an effort to assist schools in the LOC submission process, CBSE has also released a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) designed to clarify common issues and streamline the procedure. The FAQs cover various aspects of the submission process, helping schools ensure the accuracy of the data submitted for each student. By adhering to these guidelines, both teachers and students can ensure that the data submitted to the CBSE is precise, which is crucial for the proper administration and planning of the Class 10 and 12 board exams for 2024-2025.
With the October 4 deadline approaching, schools are advised to finalize and submit the LOC as soon as possible to avoid any complications. Only students whose names are included in the LOC submission will be eligible to appear in the board exams for the upcoming academic session.
