The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the “Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)” for conducting Practical Examinations, Projects, and Internal Assessments for the upcoming 2025 board exams for classes 10 and 12. These guidelines aim to standardize the assessment process and ensure consistency and accuracy during the evaluations. The practical exams for both classes will be held from January 1, 2025, to February 14, 2025.
The CBSE has outlined several key instructions for schools to follow, ensuring the smooth and error-free conduct of the assessments. Schools are advised to strictly adhere to the directions provided in the SOPs to maintain the integrity of the examination process. One of the crucial points highlighted in the guidelines is the importance of uploading marks accurately. Schools, along with internal and external examiners, must ensure that the correct marks are entered into the system, as no corrections will be permitted after submission. The CBSE emphasized that once marks are uploaded, there will be no scope for revisions, and any requests for changes after results are declared will not be entertained.
The Board has also noted that proper and timely assessment of practical exams, projects, and internal assessments is essential. CBSE pointed out that some schools had previously made serious errors and later sought alterations to the results, but it made it clear that such requests would not be accepted in the future.
The SOPs specify that practical exams, projects, and internal assessments for regular students will be conducted based on the student’s eligibility and bonafide status. Students involved in any attempts to influence examiners or engage in any unfair practices will face strict penalties, as these actions will be treated as attempts to use unfair means.
Furthermore, the CBSE has stated that if any school fails to comply with the guidelines provided by the Board, it reserves the right to cancel the practical examination and reassess the students under its own supervision. This decision highlights the Board’s commitment to maintaining the integrity and transparency of the examination process.
