The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to hold a virtual conclave today, September 11, 2024, aimed at boosting the capabilities of school counselors across India. Scheduled from 3 PM to 4 PM, the event will be accessible through the official CBSE website, with participants joining via the following link: CBSE Conclave Participation Link https://cbse.webex.com/cbse/j.php?MTID=m0f18a7137dd51e69991ac16a46056f98
In preparation for the event, CBSE has urged principals and heads of affiliated schools to ensure maximum online participation from their school counselors, teachers, and wellness teachers. The virtual conclave will accommodate up to 1,000 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the conclave aims to upgrade the skills of school counselors to better address students’ psychosocial and career needs. The session will focus on professional development through ongoing training, resources, and best practices in mental health support. This initiative is designed to foster a positive school environment that enhances students’ overall well-being.
The conclave will also provide a platform for counselors to connect, share experiences, and collaborate on strategies to meet psychosocial needs within schools. By integrating counseling practices with NEP 2020, the event underscores the critical role of mental health in education, contributing to a healthier and more supportive educational atmosphere.
For those unable to attend the live event, a recording will be available on CBSE’s official YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/@cbsehq1905
In addition to today’s event, CBSE has organized nine one-day Capacity Building Programs in various cities across India, including Lucknow, Delhi, Gurugram, Jaipur, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Guwahati, from July to September 2024. These programs aim to further support the professional development of school leaders, wellness teachers, and counselors.
