Corridors Details

The approved corridors include the Inderlok to Indraprastha corridor, spanning 12.377 kilometers, and the Lajpat Nagar to Saket G Block corridor covering 8.385 kilometers. These corridors are strategically designed to address the growing transportation needs of Delhi’s populace and to alleviate traffic congestion on key routes.

Project Cost and Funding

The total project cost for these two corridors amounts to Rs. 8,399 crore. The funding for this ambitious endeavor will be sourced from both the government and international agencies, reflecting a collaborative effort towards the development of sustainable infrastructure in the region.

Inderlok-Indraprastha Corridor

The Inderlok-Indraprastha corridor is envisaged as a partly underground route, extending the Green Line of the Delhi Metro. This corridor aims to enhance connectivity to Bahadurgarh, a burgeoning region in Haryana. By providing seamless access to central and east Delhi areas, this corridor is poised to facilitate efficient commuting for residents and commuters alike.

Lajpat Nagar-Saket G Block Corridor

In contrast, the Lajpat Nagar-Saket G Block corridor will be entirely elevated, spanning across eight stations along its route. This elevated structure not only ensures swift travel but also offers passengers a scenic view of the surrounding landscape. With its strategic location, this corridor will serve as a vital link connecting multiple metro lines, thereby improving overall network accessibility.

Enhanced Interconnectivity

As part of the expansion plan, eight new interchange stations will be constructed, further enhancing the interconnectivity within the Delhi Metro network. These interchange stations will play a pivotal role in facilitating seamless transfers between different metro lines, thereby streamlining the commuting experience for passengers.
