A remarkable weight loss journey has captured the attention of social media, as Millie Slater, a 20-year-old marketing executive from Northamptonshire, England, showcases her impressive transformation. Slater, who began her journey weighing 115 kilograms in January 2023, has now achieved a lean physique of 67 kilograms. Her inspiring story, highlighted in a TikTok video, has garnered over 400,000 views, displaying her dramatic physical change and dedication.

Slater attributes her success to a steadfast commitment to fitness and a balanced approach to nutrition. After struggling with ineffective fad diets, she opted for a personalized regimen that involved regular gym workouts and meticulous calorie tracking. Her focus on maintaining a caloric deficit and prioritizing protein intake played a crucial role in her weight loss.

In a recent interview with Newsweek, Slater revealed a key element of her fitness strategy: the incorporation of weight training and incline walking on the treadmill. She noted that her workout routine closely resembles the 12-3-30 treadmill method popularized by influencer Lauren Giraldo. This approach involves walking at a 12 percent incline at 3 miles per hour for 30 minutes, a regimen Slater found both motivating and effective.

Research supports Slater’s method, with the Journal of Biomechanics publishing a study indicating that walking at an incline burns significantly more calories compared to walking on a flat surface. According to HealthCentral, a 30-minute session of the 12-3-30 workout can burn approximately 300 calories for a person weighing 150 pounds.

Slater’s success underscores the importance of finding an enjoyable exercise routine and emphasizes that walking, combined with a bit of extra activity, can be an effective way to maintain fitness and achieve weight loss goals.
