The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has leveled serious accusations against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other party members, alleging ‘napak’ (impure) ties with Pakistan following reports that the Pakistani embassy in India sent mangoes to Gandhi and several Lok Sabha MPs. This controversy has sparked a heated exchange between the BJP and Congress, intensifying political rhetoric.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh criticized Gandhi, quest
ioning the timing and motive behind receiving the gift. Singh pointedly remarked, “Some time ago, Rahul Gandhi said he doesn’t like mangoes from Uttar Pradesh. Now, the Pakistan Embassy has sent mangoes to him. He should clarify what else he likes. Did he go to Pakistan to ask for help in removing Modi?” Singh’s remarks suggest that Gandhi’s recent criticisms of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are viewed as attempts to gain support from Pakistan to undermine the current NDA government.
Singh further accused Gandhi and other Congress leaders of being indifferent to the suffering of Hindus in Bangladesh, where, according to Singh, Pakistan-backed Jamaat-e-Islami terrorists are targeting Hindu communities. Singh wrote on social media, “In Bangladesh, Pakistan-backed Jamaat-e-Islami terrorists are burning Hindu houses and temples and here Rahul Gandhi, Shashi Tharoor, Sibal, Iqra Chaudhary, Mohibullah Nadvi, Zia Barq, Afzal Ansari are sucking the mangoes sent by Pakistan. They did not like the mangoes of Uttar Pradesh and neither are they able to hear the pain of Hindus of Bangladesh.”
The BJP’s criticism was amplified by MP Anurag Thakur, who stated, “They (Congress leaders) are receiving mangoes from the place their heart lies. He doesn’t like the mangoes of UP, but seems excited about the mangoes from Pakistan.”
The controversy has prompted BJP IT chief Amit Malviya to join the fray, questioning the motivations behind the mangoes’ gift. On social media, Malviya wrote, “Why would the Pakistan High Commission send mango cartons to these select 7 Indian MPs? Rahul Gandhi, Kapil Sibal, Shashi Tharoor, Mohibbullah Nadvi, Zia Ur Rehman, Barg Afzal Ansari and Iqra Hasan.” He suggested that the nature of the gift might reveal allegiances, posting his comments on X.
As the debate continues, Gandhi has yet to publicly address the controversy or respond to the BJP’s allegations. The situation remains tense as political leaders from both parties engage in a war of words over the issue.
