Dhaka, 3 February : The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has extended the contract of national team fast bowling coach Allan Donald. Donald will now continue in his post till the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 to be held in India in October-November.
Donald was earlier appointed as Bangladesh’s fast bowling coach in March of last year and the contract was till the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia. Later, BCB extended his contract till the home series against India.
BCB Cricket Operations President Jalal Yunus told Cricbuzz, Donald’s contract has been extended till the World Cup.
Donald is understood to be currently waiting to obtain a work permit visa, while the official said they expect their overseas coaching staff to reach Dhaka by February 22 to begin preparations for the upcoming tour of England. Sake, which includes three ODIs and three T20s.
The BCB is expected to start the camp for the England series on February 23 under the guidance of newly appointed head coach Chandika Hathurusingha, who is expected to arrive by February 20.
A BCB official said Ireland is expected to host Bangladesh in England in their final Super League series in May.
A BCB official said, Though Ireland hasn’t officially confirmed it to us, they have informed us that they are trying to host the series in England.
