In a major update, the Bar Council of India has announced an extension of the exam date for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) XVIII to November 26, 2023. This decision offers candidates additional time to prepare thoroughly for this significant legal assessment.

Moreover, the registration deadline has been pushed to November 4, 2023, granting prospective candidates a generous window to complete the registration process. Applying for the exam is a streamlined procedure – interested individuals can visit the official website, register, complete the form, upload essential documents, pay the appropriate fees, and download the confirmation form.

Applicants should note that the application fee varies based on their category, and they are advised to refer to the official website for precise details. In a reassuring move, the Bar Council of India has also introduced an application correction facility available from November 6, 2023, to rectify any errors made during the application process.

To ensure candidates are well-informed and up-to-date with any changes or crucial information regarding the exam, the Bar Council of India has initiated a dedicated WhatsApp channel for real-time updates and notices, promoting seamless communication.

The AIBE XVIII Exam will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode across 50 test centers situated in 50 cities, offering candidates the choice of three exam centers. The exam question paper will comprise 100 multiple-choice questions, necessitating thorough preparation.

The primary objective of the AIBE exam is to grant law graduates a Certificate of Practice (CoP), a pivotal step towards establishing a successful career in the legal domain. Eligibility criteria dictate candidates must possess a graduate degree in law from a recognized university to qualify for the exam.
