Shakib was a minister in Hasina’s government

37-year-old Shakib was a minister in Sheikh Hasina’s government. After violent protests in the country, Sheikh Hasina had to resign from her post. She also had to leave the country. After Hasina’s resignation, Nobel laureate Mohammad Yunus took over as Chief Advisor in the interim government of Bangladesh. His team is playing the first match of the Test series in Rawalpindi. 2 Tests will be played in the series, the second match will also start in Rawalpindi from August 30.

Who filed a case against Shakib?

Now the question arises that who filed a case against Shakib? A person named Rafikul Islam has filed a murder case in Dhaka’s Adabar Police Station. Rafikul has filed a case not only against Shakib but also against former PM Sheikh Hasina, lawyers and many former ministers. Most of the 147 accused are from Sheikh Hasina’s party Awami League.

Who was killed?

According to the PTI report, Rafikul Islam’s son Rubel was killed during the agitation on August 7. Shakib has been made accused number 27 or 28 in the FIR. Now the thing to understand is that according to reports, Shakib was not in Bangladesh on August 5 and during the protest.

So where was Shakib?

Shakib went to Canada during the violent protests in Bangladesh. Shakib took part in the Global T20 League held in Canada from 26 July to 9 August. Not only this, before 26 July, he was playing Major League Cricket in America.

What was the allegation on Shakib?

According to media reports, Rafiqul Islam said that on August 5, his son Rubel was protesting in the ring road area of Adabar. In which many other students were also involved along with Rubel. 147 people including Shakib were accused of ordering firing on the protesters. Also, many accused were also involved in the firing. Now Rubel was injured during the firing, he was admitted to the hospital, but he died after 2 days. After which the father lodged a report at the police station.

Shakib is often in the news

This star all-rounder of Bangladesh often remains in the news due to controversies on and off the field. In April this year, he had a scuffle with the ground staff.
