Bahrain is set to host the inaugural round of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup series in the Middle East from March 14 to 16.
The event, an integral part of the Bahrain championship for local breed horses, will take place at the Military Sports Association’s field in Al Raffa with the presence of esteemed participants and enthusiasts.
The Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup, in its maiden edition, encompasses 10 rounds spanning various continents. Its primary objective is to spotlight Arabian horse breeding on a global scale, underscoring the UAE’s profound interest in these majestic creatures and solidifying its esteemed position among international organizations, breeders, and owners.
Expressing profound pride in Bahrain’s selection as the host of the first Middle East round for this prestigious global championship, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, highlighted the Kingdom’s distinguished reputation as a leading hub for purebred Arabian horses. He emphasized Bahrain’s rich history intertwined with the heritage of these noble animals.
Furthermore, the Bahraini leader underscored the directives of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to nurture Arabian horses and support their owners, reflecting the royal vision to preserve this integral aspect of Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council’s heritage.
In praising the UAE’s relentless efforts to preserve Arabian horses, leader Shaikh Nasser emphasized their symbolic significance, representing the region’s purebred heritage. He commended Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS), for his unwavering patronage and dedication to equestrian sports, which has bolstered the UAE’s global standing in this domain.
Highlighting the significance of hosting the inaugural round of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup Series within the framework of the Bahrain championship for local breed horses, Shaikh Nasser emphasized the event’s role in showcasing the efforts of the Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) led by Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
In response, Shaikh Isa expressed appreciation for Shaikh Nasser’s patronage, affirming its pivotal role in advancing BREEF’s activities and contributing to the broader development of equestrian sports.
Furthermore, BREEF President praised the UAE’s significant contributions to promoting equestrian sports, highlighting the positive outcomes stemming from Shaikh Mansour’s patronage. He further also emphasised BREEF’s commitment to ensuring the success of the Bahraini and UAE horseracing events, wishing all participants success.
