New Delhi, 03 Sept (HS): Udhayanidhi Stalin, who serves as a Minister in the Tamil Nadu government led by his father and Chief Minister MK Stalin, has been charged by Delhi police for his controversial comment on ‘Santana Dharma’. The leader of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) provoked outrage when he linked Sanatana Dharma to illnesses like dengue and malaria, saying it is antithetical to the concept of social justice and must be eradicated. The Delhi Police have filed a charge against Udhayanidhi under sections 120B, 153A, 295, and 504 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Information Technology Act (IT Act) for making a provocative, inciting, and defamatory statement against Sanatan Dharm. The FIR was initiated in response to a complaint filed by Supreme Court Advocate and Social Activist Vineet Jindal over the comments made by Tamil Nadu’s Sports Minister.

Udhayanidhi’s comments sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many doubting his understanding of Sanatan Dharma and its deep ties to Tamil Nadu. ‘Aurangzeb tried…comment is also doing the rounds on the social media, flaying Udhayanidhi Stalin for his remarks. By comparing Sanatana Dharma to a disease that must be eradicated, Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of CM MK Stalin, denies Tamil history, culture, art, architecture, great gurus, ancient traditions, and links to India in general. He dislikes Tamil Nadu and India. Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of CM MK Stalin, is rejecting Tamil history, culture, art, architecture, great gurus, old customs, and linkages to India as a whole by equating Sanatana Dharma to a sickness that must be exterminated. He is opposed to both Tamil Nadu and India, Hindu scholar Dr David Frawley wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Swami Chakrapani, President of the Hindu Mahasabha, also chastised the Tamil Nadu minister, saying his comment demonstrates his ‘narrow-mindedness’. The remark by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi Stalin demonstrates his narrow-mindedness and the unholy alliance of INDIA parties. The INDIA alliance is fighting ‘Sanatan Dharma’, not PM Modi and the BJP, Chakrapani explained.
