A tragic incident unfolded in Nagpur on Friday night as a woman, her son, and a three-month-old baby were injured after being struck by a car. The driver, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, collided with the family, leaving them injured.
The accident occurred near Zenda Chowk in the densely populated Mahal area of the city. Police discovered liquor bottles in the car, indicating the driver’s intoxication.
This incident follows closely on the heels of another drink driving case in Pune, where a 17-year-old teenager driving a Porsche sports car killed two individuals.
According to authorities, the driver and his companions were drinking while traveling in the car when they struck the family. Despite attempts to flee, one of the men was apprehended by locals and handed over to the police after being beaten.
All three injured individuals are receiving medical treatment, with the three-month-old baby reported to be in critical condition. The arrested driver is currently in police custody, undergoing interrogation as the investigation unfolds.
