Mandla, 05 September: Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived on a official visit to Mandla on Tuesday. During his visit, he flagged off the BJP’s Jan Ashirwad Yatra here and address a public meeting.
Speaking at the event, the Union Minister held a scathing attack on Congress. He said then Chief Minister Digvijay Singh had left Madhya Pradesh a Bimaru state.
Further, attacking the Congress party over the budget allocation for tribal welfare during then Congress government and now BJP government, the Minister said, “What was the budget for tribal welfare when the Congress government was in power? Manmohan Singh’s government had a budget of 24 thousand crores for tribals whereas Modi government has given a budget of 1 lakh 19 thousand crores.”
“The Congress only talked about the rights of water, forest and land for the tribals. But Modi ji did the welfare of tribals by combining security, respect and inclusive development with water, forest and land,” he added.
During his address, the Home Minister also underscored the Bharatiya Janata Party’s unwavering commitment to comprehensive development in the state. He said it was under the three Chief Ministers of BJP, especially Shivraj Singh Chouhan that the state has made a remarkable progress.
On his arrival at the Dumna Airport in Jabalpur the Union Minister was received by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister of State for Cottage and Village Industries Rahul Singh Lodhi, BJP State President VD Sharma, and other public representatives.
