In addition to the cash reward, Ali Zafar has called on the Government of Pakistan to recognize Nadeem’s accomplishment by providing a heroic welcome and establishing a sports academy in his name. He expressed his hopes for increased support for athletes, stating, “Let’s show our heroes the celebration they deserve. I urge @GovtofPakistan @CMShehbaz to welcome him like a hero and establish a sports academy in his name. If our athletes and sportsmen start getting the support they deserve, we can win 10 golds a year.”
Arshad Nadeem’s victory is historic for Pakistan, as it is the country’s first Olympic medal in track and field and their first medal at the Olympics in 32 years. Nadeem’s win in Paris came after he competed against his friend and rival Neeraj Chopra from India. Chopra had previously won gold at the Tokyo Olympics but secured silver in Paris.
Following his historic win, Nadeem was seen emotionally wrapped in Pakistan’s national flag and greeted by a large number of supporters at the venue. His performance not only brought pride to Pakistan but also set a new world record in the javelin throw, making it a momentous occasion in the country’s sports history.
