Ajit Doval, 79, originally assumed the role of NSA a decade ago during Prime Minister Modi’s first term, leveraging his extensive experience in national security and intelligence operations. He quickly established himself as a key figure in India’s diplomatic engagements with neighbouring nations and also oversaw operations at the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), the country’s external intelligence agency.
Renowned for his illustrious career in law enforcement, Ajit Doval was the first police officer to receive the Kirti Chakra, India’s second-highest peacetime gallantry award. His tenure as Director of the Intelligence Bureau until 2005 fortified his reputation as a stalwart in the intelligence community, earning him widespread respect and admiration.
