Actor Nagarjuna Akkineni has voiced his dissatisfaction with the recent demolition of the N-Convention Centre in Hyderabad, claiming that the action was unlawful and unjustified. On Sunday, Nagarjuna Akkineni addressed the situation through social media, asserting that the land on which the centre was built was legally acquired and not encroached upon. His statement comes after authorities from the Hyderabad Disaster Management and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) carried out the demolition, citing issues with the property’s compliance.
In a detailed post on X, Nagarjuna Akkineni emphasized that the N-Convention Centre was constructed on “Patta Documented land,” and refuted claims of encroachment. He referred to a judgment from the Special Court of the Andhra Pradesh Land Grabbing (Prohibition) Act, which, according to him, confirmed that no encroachment had occurred on the land adjoining Tummidikunta Lake. Nagarjuna Akkineni highlighted that the legal dispute over the property is currently being addressed in the High Court and that he is committed to complying with the law.
Nagarjuna Akkineni expressed disappointment over the demolition process, which he described as carried out “contrary to existing stay orders and Court cases.” He criticized the manner in which the demolition was executed, asserting that it occurred despite a stay order against earlier notices that his legal team had contested as illegal. The actor claimed that no prior notice was issued before the demolition, which he believes was based on misinformation.
The demolition was conducted by HYDRAA officials with police support to ensure the process went smoothly. According to Madhapur DCP, the demolition was part of an enforcement action because the land in question falls within the Full Tank Level (FTL) zone, which requires adherence to specific regulations.
Nagarjuna Akkineni has announced his intention to seek legal remedies in response to what he perceives as wrongful actions by the authorities. He has urged the public to refrain from speculation and misinformation, reinforcing his commitment to legal resolution if the court rules against him.
The actor’s response underscores the ongoing tensions between property owners and regulatory authorities over land use and compliance issues, highlighting the complexities involved in such legal and administrative disputes.
