After comedian Sunil Pal’s shocking kidnapping, another distressing case has come to light involving actor Mushtaq Khan, known for his roles in films like Welcome and Stree 2. The actor was kidnapped and tortured for nearly 12 hours by a group of individuals demanding a ransom. The details of the horrifying incident have been revealed by Mushtaq’s business partner, Shivam Yadav.
The chain of events began when Mushtaq Khan was invited to an award show in Meerut on November 20. He was promised an advance payment along with flight tickets for the event. However, upon his arrival in Delhi, things took a dark turn. He was instructed to get into a car that would supposedly take him to the event. Instead, the car drove him to the outskirts of Delhi, near Bijnor, where he was held captive by his abductors.
Speaking to India Today Digital, Shivam Yadav explained how Mushtaq Khan was tortured for almost 12 hours, with the kidnappers demanding a ransom of Rs 1 crore. The situation grew more intense when they managed to extort Rs 2 lakh from the actor and his son’s bank accounts. In a desperate attempt to escape, Mushtaq heard the early morning azaan, which led him to realize that a mosque might be nearby. He seized this opportunity, sought help from the locals, and with the assistance of the police, managed to escape and return home safely.
The entire ordeal has left Mushtaq Khan’s family shaken, and an official FIR has been filed against the kidnappers. Shivam Yadav revealed that he had gone to Bijnor to lodge a formal complaint. He mentioned that they have evidence, including flight tickets, bank transaction details, and CCTV footage from near the airport, which could help in identifying the perpetrators. Mushtaq also recognized the neighborhood where he was held captive, as well as the house in which he was kept, which will likely aid the investigation.
The incident mirrors the recent kidnapping experience of comedian Sunil Pal, raising serious concerns about the safety of public figures. Both Mushtaq Khan and Sunil Pal were defrauded under the pretense of event invitations, leading to fears about actors’ security. Shivam Yadav emphasized that he and Mushtaq were unaware of Sunil’s case until after the media highlighted it. He expressed his shock that two prominent figures from the entertainment industry went through such traumatic experiences and stressed the importance of increasing awareness and security for actors in the future.
