Masala Dosa:

A favorite breakfast item in South India, masala dosa is a crispy rice crepe filled with a spiced potato mixture. It’s typically served with coconut chutney and sambar (a lentil-based vegetable stew).

Butter Chicken:

This creamy and indulgent dish is a popular North Indian creation. Tender pieces of chicken are marinated in a rich tomato and buttery sauce, making it a comfort food favorite.

Vegetarians rejoice with paneer tikka, a dish where cubes of Indian cottage cheese are marinated in yogurt and spices, skewered, and grilled to perfection.

Vada Pav:

Often referred to as the Indian burger, vada pav consists of a spicy potato fritter sandwiched between a bun. It’s a beloved street food in Mumbai.

Dhokla:

A steamed snack from the western state of Gujarat, dhokla is made from fermented rice and chickpea flour. It’s light, fluffy, and served with a tangy tamarind chutney.

Rajma Chawal:

In the northern regions of India, rajma (kidney beans) cooked in a thick tomato-based gravy is served with steamed rice. It’s a comforting and nutritious meal.

Hyderabadi Biryani:

Known for its bold and aromatic flavors, the Hyderabadi biryani is characterized by the use of fragrant Basmati rice, marinated meat, and a blend of spices, all cooked in layers.

Samosa:

A popular snack throughout the country, the samosa is a deep-fried pastry filled with spiced potatoes, peas, and sometimes minced meat. It’s often enjoyed with chutney.

Chole Bhature:

This hearty Punjabi dish consists of spicy chickpea curry (chole) served with deep-fried bread (bhature). It’s a filling and satisfying meal.
