8 Assam Police personnel stationed near Panbari, close to the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh inter-state boundary, fell ill after consuming wild mushrooms during lunch on Sunday, officials reported.
The affected personnel, belonging to the 22nd Battalion, experienced symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea approximately thirty minutes after consuming the mushrooms. They were swiftly transported to the Gogamukh health center for immediate medical attention.
Subsequently, all eight individuals were transferred to the Dhemaji Civil Hospital, where doctors assessed their condition and declared them out of danger. However, one of the personnel, Siruz Mora, was admitted to the ICU due to critical symptoms.
Authorities are investigating the incident further to ensure the safety and well-being of the Assam Police personnel stationed in the region.
