At Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Bordumsa, Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district, a shocking incident of ragging has left at least 15 Class 8 students severely injured. According to reports, the students were subjected to physical abuse by their Class 11 seniors during lunchtime on Tuesday.
Principal Rajiv Ranjan has taken action by suspending five senior students following the recommendations of a disciplinary committee convened immediately after the incident. The severity of the abuse was captured in disturbing visuals showing bruises and injuries sustained by the victims.
“The decision to suspend the students was made in accordance with the committee’s findings,” stated Principal Ranjan, underscoring the school’s zero-tolerance policy towards such misconduct.
In response to the incident, a meeting of the school’s Parent Teacher Council has been scheduled for today to discuss further measures and address concerns raised by guardians. Expressing outrage, parents have demanded stringent action against both the perpetrators and the school administration to ensure such incidents do not recur.
The local administration has also been alerted, and authorities are monitoring the situation closely to ensure justice for the affected students and prevent any escalation of tensions on campus.
