  • Yogi vows to crush terror after Pahalgam attack tragedy.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the grieving family of Shubham Dwivedi, one of the 26 victims killed in the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack, which targeted Hindu tourists, sparked nationwide outrage and prompted strong political and diplomatic responses. Yogi Adityanath condemned the incident in the harshest terms, promising that the masterminds and perpetrators behind the attack will not be spared.

“Poisonous fangs of terror will be crushed”

Addressing the media after paying his respects at Dwivedi’s residence in Kanpur, the Chief Minister called the Pahalgam assault a “cowardly and brutal act” aimed at creating religious divisions. He declared that terrorism in India is breathing its last and reiterated his government’s commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against such violence. “The poisonous fangs of terror will be crushed with full force,” he asserted.

During his visit, Yogi Adityanath spoke with Shubham Dwivedi’s wife and father, offering condolences and assuring state support. He noted that Shubham Dwivedi was the only son of his family and had married just two months earlier. The Chief Minister also condemned the desecration of Hindu symbols during the attack, describing it as an act of barbarism against innocent civilians.

Political and diplomatic response intensifies

The Pahalgam terror attack took place in Baisaran, a popular tourist destination about six kilometers from the town. Armed militants opened fire on unarmed tourists enjoying pony rides and picnics, causing widespread panic. Disturbing visuals from the scene showed lifeless bodies and terrified women running for safety. Emergency responders, including police and local residents, quickly evacuated the injured using ambulances, helicopters, and even ponies.

In response, the Union Government escalated its stance against Pakistan, which it holds responsible for supporting terrorism. A Cabinet Committee on Security meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi resulted in the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and the announcement of further diplomatic steps. An all-party meeting was scheduled for Thursday to formulate a united political front.

Shubham Dwivedi’s body arrived in Kanpur on Wednesday night, and his last rites were performed with full state honors. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was joined by several senior leaders and officials, including Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, BJP state president Bhupendra Chaudhary, and ministers from the state cabinet, to stand in solidarity with the bereaved family.
