Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, addressing a political rally in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, evoked comparisons with Pakistan while emphasizing India’s commitment to addressing hunger through the provision of free ration to its citizens.
Speaking at a rally in support of BJP candidate Kanwar Singh Tanwar, Adityanath underscored the stark contrast between India’s efforts to provide free ration to over 80 crore people and Pakistan’s ongoing struggle with hunger.
Highlighting the significance of the BJP’s pledge to continue the distribution of free ration, as outlined in the party’s Lok Sabha poll manifesto, Adityanath emphasized the resonance of the “phir ek baar Modi sarkar” slogan across the nation.
With Prime Minister Narendra Modi in attendance, Adityanath hailed the transformative changes ushered in by the Modi-led government, attributing them to the widespread popularity of the BJP’s leadership and policies.
The chief minister’s remarks come against the backdrop of ongoing Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, with Amroha set to go to polls in the second phase on April 26. The constituency, previously won by Kanwar Singh Tanwar in 2014 but lost in 2019 to Danish Ali, currently sees Ali contesting on a Congress ticket.
Adityanath’s invocation of Pakistan serves as a poignant reminder of India’s commitment to addressing socio-economic challenges, while also showcasing the BJP’s narrative of governance and development as key themes in the ongoing electoral discourse.
