In a significant legal development in Gurugram, a woman and her accomplice have been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of her husband. The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Tarun Singal delivered the verdict on Friday, also imposing a fine of ₹10,000 each on the convicted individuals.
The murder, which occurred in November 2019, involved the woman, Jyoti, and her husband’s cousin, Sachin. According to the police, Sandeep, the victim, was shot on the road connecting Sihi village to the Dwarka Expressway. Despite being rushed to a hospital, Sandeep succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The case came to light after Sandeep’s brother filed a complaint alleging that Jyoti and Sachin were responsible for the shooting. Following this complaint, an FIR was registered at Sector 37 police station in Gurugram. The police promptly arrested the accused and gathered substantial evidence, including witness testimonies, which were presented in court.
Judge Singal’s sentencing marks a critical moment in the legal proceedings, reflecting the gravity of the crime and the judicial system’s commitment to delivering justice. The life sentences and fines serve as a measure of accountability for the heinous act, bringing closure to the victim’s family and upholding the principles of justice.
