Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], August 18 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed his delight over the approval of the bill related to the provision of 10 per cent reservation in government service for state agitators by the Governor of the state Lt Gen Retd Gurmeet Singh, said an official release.

The Chief Minister has also expressed his gratitude to the Governor for this regard.

The Chief Minister said that the state government can never forget the struggle and sacrifice of the state agitators. State agitators have always been respectable for us. Our government gives top priority to their facilities.

The Chief Minister said that the state government had decided to give 10 per cent reservation in government jobs to the state agitators and all their dependents and its bill was passed in the Assembly and sent to the Governor, on which he has given his consent. This has also fulfilled a big pending demand of the state agitators.

The Chief Minister said that along with increasing the pension of the state agitators, we have also decided to give pension to their dependents after the death of the state agitators. The state government is working with commitment to make Uttarakhand of the dreams of the state agitators.

Earlier in the day, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 26 schemes worth Rs 3,916.85 lakh at a program organized at Government College Amodi, Champawat ahead of Raksha Bandhan.

According to an official release, “Chief Minister Dhami inaugurated 13 schemes worth Rs 2510.95 lakh and the foundation stone laying of 13 schemes worth Rs 1465.90 lakh.”

A large number of women tied Raksha Sutra on the wrist of the Chief Minister Dhami and wished him a long life on this occasion.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made several announcements, including flood protection work in the Belkhet area, flood protection work for the protection of Government College Amodi, and construction of a suspension bridge in Belkhet during the occasion.

He also announced the naming of the under-construction stadium in Champawat after the late Kailash Gahtori and naming the Kharkodi road of Gram Panchayat Dudhauli after martyred commando Naveen Singh Bisht of the Indian Army. (ANI)
