In the eastern region of Donetsk, Ukrainian forces are engaged in a fierce battle to defend the strategic town of Chasiv Yar against a Russian force estimated at 20,000-25,000 troops. Despite the challenging circumstances, Ukrainian military spokesman Nazar Voloshyn maintains that the situation remains under control.

In a significant move, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced a £500 million boost in military support for Ukraine during his upcoming visit to Poland.
