The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) is set to release the admit cards for the re-conduct of the Police Constable Recruitment Exam 2024 today. Candidates who registered for the exam will be able to download their admit cards using their login credentials on the official Uttar Pradesh Police website. The admit cards will be available for download three days before the scheduled exam dates.
The re-test is planned to take place from August 23-25 and August 30-31, with two shifts each day. The scheduling of the exam dates has been adjusted to accommodate the Janmashtami festival. Approximately 5 lakh candidates are expected to participate in the test, which aims to fill around 60,244 posts in the Uttar Pradesh Police Department.
The selection process for eligible candidates includes a written exam, a physical test, document verification, and a medical examination. Only those who successfully pass the written exam will be invited to proceed with the subsequent stages of the recruitment process.
In a notable provision, candidates who choose to use the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation’s (UPSRTC) free bus service to travel to their exam centers will need to present their admit cards to the bus conductor. Each candidate must download two additional copies of their admit card—one for traveling to the exam center and another for returning home after the exam.
The previous examination, which was initially conducted on February 17 and 18, was cancelled due to paper leaks. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had mandated the cancellation of the exam to ensure a fair and transparent re-examination process. In response to the paper leak scandal, over 240 individuals were arrested across Uttar Pradesh for allegedly engaging in or planning to use unfair means during the exam.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the importance of maintaining the sanctity of examinations and vowed that those who undermine the hard work of candidates would face strict action. More than 48 lakh aspirants, including nearly 16 lakh women, participated in the previous recruitment exam, which was conducted across 2,835 centers in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
