Forecasters anticipate a more favorable weather pattern across the UK this week, with temperatures expected to rise to around 23 degrees Celsius.
Sunny intervals are forecasted to emerge throughout Tuesday across many regions of the UK. Following the showers experienced over the bank holiday weekend, dry conditions are anticipated for most areas, excluding Scotland and northern England.
As the week progresses, conditions are projected to improve across the nation, accompanied by a noticeable increase in warmth. Although some showers may persist in northern Scotland, the overall trend is towards more settled weather.
Met Office meteorologist Ellie Glaisyer outlined, “It will generally be a lot more settled this week.” She noted that temperatures are likely to peak in the early twenties on Tuesday in the southern regions, with later days potentially seeing temperatures reaching 22C to 23C. Conversely, northern areas are expected to experience temperatures in the high teens.
Ms. Glaisyer further explained that an area of high pressure will gradually build and traverse the UK from Wednesday onwards, heralding a period of settled, warmer, and drier conditions.
This forecast follows a mixed weather weekend in the UK, characterized by a blend of rain and sunshine. The Met Office had issued yellow weather warnings for portions of England, Wales, and southern Scotland on Monday due to the risk of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall, which could have led to flooding and travel disruptions. However, these warnings expired at 9pm on Monday evening as showers began to diminish nationwide.
