National Dengue Day Awareness Drive Held Across Gautam Buddh Nagar Schools, Villages and Industrial Areas
On the occasion of National Dengue Day, Health Department launched an extensive awareness campaign across Gautam Buddh Nagar district to educate residents about dengue prevention and sanitation measures. Awareness activities were organized in villages, schools, healthcare centers and industrial zones to inform people about mosquito control, cleanliness and preventive healthcare practices. This year’s theme, “Community Participation Dengue Control: Check, Clean and Cover,” focused on strengthening public participation in dengue prevention efforts.
Health officials explained that dengue spreads through the bite of the Aedes mosquito, which breeds in clean stagnant water. Residents were urged not to allow water accumulation near homes, workplaces or public spaces. Through posters, pamphlets and awareness sessions, people were informed about essential “Do’s and Don’ts” to prevent dengue outbreaks during the upcoming monsoon season.
Door-to-Door Inspections and Anti-Larva Measures Intensified
Special inspection drives were conducted in Barola village, where health department teams surveyed 41 households. Residents were advised to regularly empty coolers, refrigerator trays, drums, water tanks and bird water containers at least once every week to prevent mosquito breeding.
Anti-larvicide sprays and mobil oil treatments were recommended in stagnant water areas. Health workers also educated residents about common dengue symptoms including high fever, headache, body pain and weakness. People experiencing symptoms were advised to seek immediate medical testing and treatment.
Schools and Factories Join Dengue Prevention Initiative
At Green Field Modern Public School in Barola, students were educated about dengue prevention, personal hygiene and environmental cleanliness. Officials encouraged children to spread awareness among family members and neighbors, highlighting the important role students can play in community health campaigns.
A similar awareness session was conducted at Sahu International Attire Private Limited in Sector-65, Noida, where nearly 350 workers participated. Through posters and handbills, employees were informed about the importance of workplace cleanliness and preventing water stagnation around industrial premises.
Awareness Drives Expanded Across Dadri, Jewar and Bisrakh
Special dengue awareness programs were also organized in Dadri municipal areas, where health teams interacted with employees and local residents. ASHA workers and health supervisors visited villages to educate families about preventive measures and mosquito control practices.
Community health centers in Kanigarhi, Jewar and Bisrakh also organized awareness activities to educate rural populations about early symptoms, timely testing and preventive healthcare. Officials advised residents to use mosquito nets and wear full-sleeved clothing for additional protection.
Rallies and Community Participation Highlighted
A dengue awareness rally was organized in Dadha village to spread the message of cleanliness and public participation. Health workers, ANMs and ASHA volunteers distributed posters and handbills while encouraging villagers to prevent mosquito breeding around their homes.
Health officials stated that controlling dengue requires active participation from the community alongside government initiatives. Continuous awareness drives are being conducted throughout the district to keep residents alert and reduce the risk of dengue outbreaks during the rainy season.
