Punjabi singer Sunanda Sharma has made serious allegations against music producer Pinky Dhaliwal, accusing him of financial exploitation, harassment, and fraud. She claimed that the producer withheld her rightful earnings, causing her immense distress over the past two years. The controversy took a legal turn when Dhaliwal was arrested on Saturday following her complaint. In an emotional social media post, Sunanda revealed the struggles she faced and appealed to the government for intervention.
Sunanda Sharma expressed deep anguish over the situation, stating that she had repeatedly requested Dhaliwal to clear her dues but was met with ignorance and manipulation. She disclosed that the financial strain and constant harassment took a severe toll on her mental health, even leading her to consider extreme steps. She wrote, “For two years, I have been saying, ‘For God’s sake, please don’t do this.’ I appeal to the government—please help me get my dues.” She also extended her gratitude to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for acknowledging her plight, stating that his intervention not only supported her but also gave hope to countless other women facing similar exploitation in the industry. Additionally, she thanked the Punjab media for standing by her during this difficult time.
The allegations against Pinky Dhaliwal, who runs companies like Mad4Music and Amar Audio, paint a troubling picture of financial and professional exploitation. Sunanda claimed that Dhaliwal pressured her to perform at events without ensuring fair compensation. In her complaint, she asserted that despite generating over ₹250 crore in revenue during the period in question, she was denied her rightful earnings. She alleged that all her income was unlawfully appropriated, leaving her without direct payments for her work. This alleged financial misconduct, she stated, significantly impacted her stability and well-being.
Further detailing the allegations, Sunanda Sharma accused Dhaliwal of using her earnings to amass personal wealth. She stated that his sudden and unexplained accumulation of assets was directly linked to his alleged illegal actions, including unauthorized collection of performance fees and manipulation of her financial rights. According to her, every time she demanded her dues, Dhaliwal responded with threats to sabotage her career and tarnish her reputation in the music industry.
The case has sparked widespread discussions in the entertainment industry, raising concerns about the financial exploitation of artists. With Dhaliwal’s arrest, legal proceedings are expected to unfold, shedding further light on the allegations and their implications for the Punjabi music industry.
