An intensive inspection campaign is currently underway in Gautam Buddh Nagar district to curb the commercial misuse of domestic LPG cylinders, black marketing, illegal refilling and other unauthorized activities related to petroleum products. The drive has been launched under the directions of the District Magistrate with the objective of ensuring transparency and strict compliance with rules governing the distribution and use of LPG and petroleum products across the district.

To effectively monitor and control such activities, joint inspection teams have been constituted under the leadership of the respective Sub-Divisional Magistrates and the City Magistrate. These teams include officials from the Weights and Measures Department, the Food and Civil Supplies Department and representatives from oil companies. The combined teams have been tasked with conducting inspections at gas agencies, fuel stations and other locations where LPG and petroleum products are distributed or used.

As part of the ongoing campaign, inspections were carried out at several locations in the district during the past few days. The teams conducted detailed checks of gas agencies operating under the Dadri tehsil area. The agencies inspected included Pradhan Man Singh Bharat Gas, Dadri Indane Seva and Sachin Bharat Gas Rural Distributor located in Chithera.

During the inspection, officials verified the availability of LPG cylinders and the status of regulatory compliance at these agencies. According to the inspection report, adequate stocks of LPG cylinders were available at all the inspected gas agencies. Officials also confirmed that the required licenses and approvals from the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) and the Weights and Measures Department were valid and up to date.

The inspection teams examined various operational records and safety measures maintained by the gas distributors to ensure that LPG cylinders were being supplied according to government norms. The presence of sufficient LPG stocks at the agencies indicated that supply in the area remained stable and that there was no shortage of cylinders at the distribution level.

In addition to gas agencies, the joint teams also carried out inspections at petrol pumps in the district to ensure compliance with safety regulations and government directives. One such inspection was conducted at a petrol pump operated by Satish Chandra Goyal and Company in Dadri.

During the inspection of the petrol pump, officials found certain irregularities related to regulatory compliance. It was observed that the license issued by the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) for the petrol pump was valid only until December 31, 2025. This indicated that the license had not been renewed beyond that date, raising concerns about compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Another important violation detected during the inspection was related to the implementation of the government’s “No Helmet, No Fuel” policy. Officials found that the petrol pump was not strictly following this directive. Two-wheeler riders were reportedly being supplied fuel even if they were not wearing helmets, which is against the government’s instructions aimed at promoting road safety.

Following the detection of these irregularities, the concerned officer of the oil company associated with the petrol pump was instructed to take appropriate action against the retail outlet. The authorities have directed that necessary corrective measures be implemented to ensure compliance with safety regulations and government guidelines.

Officials involved in the inspection drive emphasized that strict enforcement of these rules is essential to prevent misuse of LPG cylinders and petroleum products. Domestic LPG cylinders are meant primarily for household use, and their commercial use or illegal refilling can create safety risks as well as disrupt the regulated distribution system.

The district administration has made it clear that such inspection drives will continue in the coming days to ensure that gas agencies, fuel stations and distributors adhere strictly to regulatory requirements. Authorities are particularly focusing on preventing illegal activities such as unauthorized refilling of LPG cylinders and black marketing, which can lead to supply disruptions and safety hazards.

According to the District Supply Officer, the inspection campaign will be carried out regularly across different parts of the district. The objective is to ensure transparency in the distribution of LPG and petroleum products and to maintain strict adherence to the rules governing their storage, sale and usage.

The administration has also appealed to the public and commercial establishments to follow the prescribed guidelines regarding LPG usage and fuel safety. Officials stated that strict action would be taken against any entity found violating the rules related to LPG distribution, illegal refilling or black marketing.
