Changes in the Scheme as in 2024

In 2024, notable changes were introduced to enhance the effectiveness of the SEHAT Health Insurance Scheme. These modifications include expanding coverage to approximately 21 lakh families in Jammu & Kashmir who were previously excluded from similar schemes. Moreover, the integration of ration card numbers and Aadhar cards as unique identifiers streamlines the beneficiary identification process, ensuring wider reach and inclusivity.

Benefits of the Scheme

The SEHAT Health Insurance Scheme offers a plethora of benefits to its beneficiaries. Firstly, it provides cashless health cover of up to Rs. 5,00,000, relieving individuals from the burden of medical expenses. Additionally, the scheme promotes the development of the healthcare sector in Jammu & Kashmir, reducing the need for residents to seek treatment outside the region. Furthermore, with the provision of SEHAT cards to all beneficiaries, accessing healthcare services becomes more convenient and streamlined.

Data Insights

– Coverage : Around 1 crore beneficiaries will benefit from the SEHAT Health Insurance Scheme in Jammu and Kashmir.

– Implementation : A committee has been formed to complete the database of residents missing from the socio-economic caste census 2011 for seamless implementation.

– Hospital Network : 229 government hospitals and 35 private hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir have registered to provide benefits under the scheme.

– Registration : Eligible residents can apply for the scheme through common service center operators, ensuring accessibility to all.

With its comprehensive coverage, streamlined implementation, and focus on inclusivity, the SEHAT Health Insurance Scheme is poised to significantly improve healthcare accessibility and affordability for the residents of Jammu & Kashmir.
