The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah engaged in a significant diplomatic meeting on Sunday with Sameh Shoukry, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt. This high-level encounter preceded the meeting of the Follow-up and Political Consultation Committee between the two nations, featuring their respective foreign ministers.
During their bilateral meeting, Saudi Arabian Prince Faisal and Minister Sameh Shoukry delved into a comprehensive review of the strong fraternal relations and bilateral cooperation that exist between their two countries. They also engaged in discussions on matters of mutual interest.
Subsequently, the Saudi Foreign Minister and his Egyptian counterpart co-chaired the ministerial-level meeting of the Follow-up and Political Consultation Committee, where they explored avenues to intensify mechanisms for bilateral cooperation across various domains. They emphasized the need to enhance joint coordination on issues of shared concern, which ultimately serve the common interests of both nations.
In addition to addressing bilateral matters, the meeting encompassed deliberations on regional and international developments, with particular attention to the situation in the Gaza Strip.
Detailing on the minutes of the meeting, the Saudi Foreign Ministry in a statement said, “They also discussed ways to enhance joint coordination towards issues of shared interest, in addition to regional and international developments, including the situation in the Gaza Strip.”
It is pertinent to note that the consultative meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Osama bin Ahmed Nuqli, the Undersecretary for Political Affairs Dr. Saud Al-Sati and Walid Al-Samaeel, the Assistant Director General of the Office of His Highness the Minister, the statement by the Ministry added.
