Following the recent upheaval in the country, which resulted in the death of at least 560 people since mid-July, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has emphasized the need for India to take a strong stance on this issue at the global level.
The violence, which erupted after the fall of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government, has seen Hindu temples, homes, and businesses targeted. Over 230 people have been reported killed in the recent spate of violence, highlighting the severity of the situation.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized the Indian government’s silence and urged it to address the crisis as a matter of human rights and international concern. He asserted that such violence against any community, be it majority or minority, is unacceptable and should prompt India to advocate for stronger international action.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also warned against using another country’s political situation for personal gain, suggesting that such actions only undermine a nation’s strength. He stressed the importance of protecting all citizens and maintaining ethical standards in international relations.
