Sahibganj (Jharkhand) [India], May 27 (ANI): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched fresh attacks against Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Monday, accusing them of looting Jharkhand, a mineral rich state.

Singh addressed the public meeting in Sahibganj virtually as his chopper could not land due to inclement weather in the region. Singh addressed the rally as he campaigned for BJP candidate Tala Marandi from Rajmahal Constituency.

He said Jharkhand state is rich in natural mineral resources but people of the state are poor.

“Former CM of the state is in jail in corruption charges. Large amount of cash was confiscated at the house of the personal assistant of a Jharkhand government minister, which is a betrayal to the people of Jharkhand and the poor across the country,” he said.

Whenever Congress comes to power, corruption becomes rampant, the Defence Minister said as he mentioned scams like 2G scam, coal scam and sevral others adding that Congress is synonymous with corruption.

Attacking opposition parties for their appeasement politics, he said because of appeasement politics, states like West Bengal have witnessed illegal immigration. The BJP government will identify and deport infiltrator out of the country, he said.

Coming down heavily on opposition parties for their stand against CAA, the Defence Minister said, “We have implemented the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) to grant citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and other religious minorities from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh. CAA will not take away the Citizenship of legitimate Indian citizens. It is a law to give Citizenship to people who are facing religious persecution.”

He highlighted that as per NITI Ayog in last seven-eight years around 25 crore people have been helped out of poverty under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“During the pandemic, the Modi-led government ensured everyone received the COVID vaccine and distributed 5 kg of free ration to every household. The BJP government will not let anyone remain poor. BJP cannot forget the significant contribution of the tribal population in the formation of Jharkhand. BJP and Atal Bihari Vajpayee who initiated the creation of Jharkhand,” he said.

PM Modi has completed 10 years in office, yet no leader from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha can accuse him or any minister of corruption. The Modi government is unblemished when it comes to corruption, he said. (ANI)
