Rajasthan is set to establish its first-ever Centre of Excellence specializing in blockchain technology and artificial intelligence. This initiative comes through a partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur, solidified by a recently signed memorandum of understanding (MoU). Rajcomp Info Services Limited and IIT-Kanpur have come together to bolster e-governance capabilities within the state.
The collaboration, marked by a signing ceremony, aims to foster transparency, security, and data integrity across various e-governance projects by developing blockchain-based solutions. The initiative was highlighted by State Information Technology Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, who emphasized the transition from theoretical research to practical application in blockchain technology and artificial intelligence.
IIT-Kanpur, recognized globally for its blockchain expertise, and the Rajasthan government, represented by Rajcomp Info Services Limited’s Managing Director Indrajeet Singh and IIT-Kanpur’s Computer Science and Engineering Department Professor Manindra Agrawal, have committed to leveraging these technologies. They intend to enhance service delivery in areas such as land registration, financial transactions, and healthcare.
Blockchain technology, known for its secure and immutable recording capabilities, is expected to significantly contribute to the integrity and efficiency of the state’s e-governance initiatives.
