Allu Arjun’s much-awaited sequel Pushpa 2: The Rule, directed by Sukumar, is taking the global box office by storm. The film, which released on December 5, has already shown remarkable performance in theatres, especially in the Hindi-speaking regions. As per the latest trade reports, the film is all set to cross the Rs 1,000 crore mark globally, making history within just six days of its release.
Early estimates suggest that Pushpa 2 is on track to hit the Rs 1,000 crore milestone by December 11, setting an all-time record for any Indian film to achieve this feat within a week of its release. On Day 6, the movie earned Rs 52.50 crore nett, according to tracking website Sacnilk. Despite a slight dip in collections from Day 5, the number remains impressive, as the film is expected to gain momentum during its second weekend in theatres.
The Hindi version of Pushpa 2 has been particularly successful, contributing Rs 38 crore nett of the total earnings on Day 6. The Telugu version of the film grossed Rs 11 crore nett, while the Tamil version added Rs 2.60 crore nett to the overall tally. With these figures, the film’s six-day total at the domestic box office stands at Rs 645.95 crore nett. Notably, the Hindi version has performed exceptionally well with Rs 370.1 crore nett, while the Telugu version has earned Rs 222.6 crore nett.
The film’s impressive performance has also been reflected in its daily earnings, with the following day-wise breakup for India: On Day 0, the film earned Rs 10.65 crore from its premiere shows. Day 1 saw a massive opening of Rs 164.25 crore, followed by Rs 93.8 crore on Day 2, Rs 119.25 crore on Day 3, and Rs 141.05 crore on Day 4. On Day 5, the collections dipped slightly to Rs 64.5 crore, and on Day 6, the movie earned Rs 52.50 crore.
Pushpa 2: The Rule continues the saga of Pushpa Raj, the head of the red sandalwood smuggling syndicate, as he battles political adversaries while asserting his dominance in the Indian political system. The film stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil in key roles, with an ensemble cast including Rao Ramesh, Jagapathi Babu, and Sunil. Produced on a massive budget of Rs 450 crore, Pushpa 2 is jointly backed by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings.
