In a sharp and pointed attack during an address in London, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi accused Pakistan of actively sheltering some of the world’s most wanted terrorists while India is being recognized globally for its responsible leadership. Speaking as part of an all-party Indian delegation promoting the country’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism, Chaturvedi drew a stark contrast between India’s growing international stature and Pakistan’s continued backing of terror networks. Her remarks come in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 civilians dead in Jammu and Kashmir, prompting India to launch the retaliatory Operation Sindoor.
Chaturvedi said that while India proudly hosted the G20 summit with successful global participation, Pakistan remains infamous for giving refuge to what she described as the “T20” — top 20 global terrorists. She emphasized that this was not an accidental or isolated occurrence but rather a deliberate state policy. “While we host G20, they host T20 — the top 20 terrorists of the world,” she remarked, underscoring the sharp divergence in priorities between the two countries.
Pakistan’s History of Hosting Terror Leaders
Pointing to past incidents, Chaturvedi cited the example of Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks in the U.S., who was eventually located and killed by American forces in Abbottabad, Pakistan. She criticized Islamabad for not only providing a safe haven but also allegedly supporting, financing, and hiding bin Laden from its own ally, the United States. “They shake hands with you and bite you on your back,” she added, accusing Pakistan of double-dealing on international commitments.
She urged the Indian diaspora in the UK to watch documentaries on the bin Laden operation to understand the depth of Pakistan’s duplicity. Her statements sought to highlight how Pakistan’s support to terror outfits remains an ongoing concern, threatening global peace and security.
India Pushes for Global Action Against Terrorism
Chaturvedi also emphasized the difference between the diplomatic and economic approaches of the two nations. While India is working towards a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the UK, she claimed Pakistan is pushing its own version of “FTA” — which she called the Free Terrorism Arrangement. She said her delegation’s mission is to expose this duplicity on the global stage.
The delegation she is part of includes senior political leaders such as BJP’s Ravi Shankar Prasad, Daggubati Purandeswari, Ghulam Ali Khatana, Amar Singh, Samik Bhattacharya, former Union Minister MJ Akbar, and Ambassador Pankaj Saran. This is one of seven teams dispatched by the Indian government to 33 global capitals to share India’s message of zero-tolerance for terrorism and present the details of Operation Sindoor.
