Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Goa on 6th February 2024, where he will partake in several significant events that encompass a spectrum of crucial initiatives and developments.
ONGC Sea Survival Centre Inauguration
At approximately 10:30 AM, PM Modi will inaugurate the ONGC Sea Survival Centre, a pioneering endeavor designed to elevate India’s sea survival training standards to global benchmarks. The center is expected to train an impressive 10,000-15,000 personnel annually, equipping them with essential sea survival skills under simulated and controlled harsh weather conditions, ultimately enhancing their prospects of safe escape during real-life disasters.
India Energy Week 2024
The Prime Minister’s visit will also witness the inauguration of India Energy Week 2024 at around 10:45 AM. This event holds great significance as it aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of achieving energy self-reliance for India. India Energy Week 2024, scheduled from 6th to 9th February in Goa, will stand as India’s largest and most comprehensive energy exhibition and conference. It will convene the entire energy value chain, serving as a catalyst for India’s energy transition goals.
During the India Energy Week, Prime Minister Modi will engage in a roundtable discussion with global oil & gas CEOs and experts, emphasizing international cooperation and collaboration in the energy sector. The event will also focus on nurturing and integrating startups into the energy value chain.
Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047
In the afternoon, at around 2:45 PM, Prime Minister Modi will participate in the Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047 program, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects amounting to over Rs. 1330 crores. The program encompasses several crucial inaugurations and foundation stone layings for significant projects.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate the permanent campus of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Goa, providing state-of-the-art facilities for students, faculty, and staff. Additionally, the newly constructed campus includes essential amenities such as tutorial complexes, departmental complexes, seminar facilities, hostels, health centers, staff quarters, amenity centers, sports grounds, and more.
He will also dedicate the new campus of the National Institute of Watersports (NIWS) to the nation, highlighting its commitment to fostering the development of watersports and water rescue activities for the public and the Armed Forces.
Further, PM Modi will inaugurate a 100 TPD Integrated Waste Management Facility in South Goa. This facility, designed for the scientific treatment of 60 TPD wet waste and 40 TPD dry waste, features a 500 KW solar power plant generating surplus electricity.
Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for a Passenger Ropeway, along with associated tourism activities, connecting Panaji and Reis Magos, providing enhanced connectivity and tourism opportunities. Furthermore, the foundation stone for a 100 MLD Water Treatment Plant in South Goa will be laid, enhancing water infrastructure in the region.
In a significant effort towards employment generation, Prime Minister Modi will distribute appointment orders to 1930 new Government recruits across various departments under Rozgar Mela. He will also hand over sanction letters to beneficiaries of various welfare schemes, further underscoring the government’s commitment to social development and well-being.
