PM Modi is set to inaugurate the 7th Edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2023 at 9:45 AM today. The grand event, scheduled from October 27 to 29, 2023, is taking place at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. This congress, recognized as the largest telecom, media, and technology forum in Asia, is poised to spotlight India’s remarkable strides in telecommunications and technology, while offering a platform for groundbreaking announcements and showcasing innovative products and solutions from startups.
Fostering 5G Innovation:
During the inaugural program, PM Modi will present awards to 100 educational institutions across the nation as part of the ‘100 5G Use Case Labs’ initiative. These labs are integral to the ‘100 5G labs initiative,’ an effort aimed at harnessing the potential of 5G technology to develop applications that serve both India’s unique requirements and global demands. The initiative is expected to stimulate innovation in various sectors, including education, agriculture, health, power, and transportation, propelling India to the forefront of 5G technology adoption. Moreover, it represents a significant stride toward building a 6G-ready academic and startup ecosystem in the country. Importantly, the initiative contributes to the development of indigenous telecom technology, a critical aspect of national security.
Global Digital Innovation:
Under the theme ‘Global Digital Innovation,’ IMC 2023 intends to reinforce India’s position as a developer, manufacturer, and exporter of cutting-edge technologies. The three-day congress will encompass discussions on 5G and 6G technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and crucial topics such as the semiconductor industry, green technology, and cybersecurity.
Empowering Startups with ‘Aspire’:
In a new addition this year, IMC 2023 is launching the ‘Aspire’ startup program. This initiative aims to foster connections between startups, investors, and established businesses, facilitating fresh entrepreneurial initiatives and collaborations. It holds the potential to catalyze innovation and drive growth in India’s vibrant startup ecosystem.
A Global Gathering:
The India Mobile Congress 2023 is expected to attract over one lakh participants from approximately 22 countries, including about 5000 CEO-level delegates, 230 exhibitors, 400 startups, and various stakeholders.
