During his visit to Dubai for the World Government Summit 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a fruitful meeting with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Defense Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.
The discussions between the two leaders covered a wide range of subjects, including trade and investment, technology, education, and people-to-people ties. They expressed satisfaction at the growing economic and commercial relations between India and the UAE, highlighting the significance of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and the recently signed Bilateral Investment Treaty.
Prime Minister Modi expressed gratitude towards Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his support and graciousness towards the Indian community in Dubai. They recognized the valuable contribution of the Indian Diaspora to Dubai’s development into a global hub for trade, services, and tourism.
Additionally, Prime Minister Modi thanked Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid for granting land for an Indian Community Hospital in Dubai, aimed at providing affordable healthcare facilities to Indian blue-collar workers.
PM Modi also extended an invitation to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to visit India at his earliest convenience.
Reflecting on the meeting, PM Modi remarked, “It is always a delight to meet @HHShkMohd. His vision for Dubai’s growth is clearly visible to the entire world.”
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the World Government Summit 2024, where PM Modi participated as a Guest of Honor, delivering a special address outlining his vision for the future of governance and highlighting India’s successful governance model and its role in addressing global challenges.
