In response to World Health Organisation (WHO) chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his re-election, the PM expressed gratitude to his friend “Tulsi Bhai” for the warm wishes.
PM Modi thanked Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus for his well wishes and highlighted the collaborative efforts between India and WHO towards the vision of ‘One Earth One Health’. He also mentioned the establishment of the first WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in India, emphasizing joint efforts towards #HealthForAll.
The term “Tulsi Bhai” originates from an interaction between PM Modi and Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus during a Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit in Gujarat in 2022. At the summit, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, expressing his fondness for Indian culture, requested PM Modi to choose a Gujarati name for him, leading to the adoption of the name “Tulsi Bhai” by the PM.
PM Modi is poised to take oath for his third term as Prime Minister on Sunday, following the victory of his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Lok Sabha polls.
