In a dramatic act of bravery, two pet dogs in Ghaziabad intervened to protect their family from a knife-wielding group of men who had attacked them inside their home. The incident took place on Tuesday at the residence of Sundar Singh, where the assailants allegedly threatened, abused, and misbehaved with Singh’s wife and two daughters.
The two-year-old dogs, Taru and Buzzo, had been adopted by the Singh family from the streets. Singh’s daughter, who looks after stray dogs in the Khoda colony, had previously taken these dogs in. The altercation began when Singh’s daughter was attacked by Kunwar Pal and a group of men on bikes, who were reportedly upset with the family for undisclosed reasons.
According to the FIR, the situation escalated when Kirodi Singh, a neighbor, Pal, and others entered the house later that night, armed with knives. They threatened and abused Sundar Singh’s wife and daughters. In a desperate bid to protect their family, the two dogs bravely confronted the attackers, sustaining severe knife wounds in their abdomen and head while successfully driving the men out of the house.
The police registered an FIR under various sections, including those related to house trespass and animal cruelty. However, despite the severity of the incident, the attackers were initially allowed to leave after a local journalist intervened on their behalf.
The courageous act of the dogs has not only highlighted their loyalty but also underscored the urgent need for justice and protection for those who protect others, including animals who stand in harm’s way.
