Washington [US], April 15 (ANI): After more than two years since its initial season ended, ‘Peacemaker’ has started production on a new set of episodes.
James Gunn, DC Studios co-chairman and co-CEO, shared a selfie on Instagram on Saturday, seen in Peacemaker’s iconic headgear. Gunn captioned the image with “Day 1 S2,” with the mermaid emoji being a tribute to the show’s fans. In the first season, Vigilante (Freddie Stroma) disclosed that the mermaid emoji was his preferred one, signifying a range of emotions from happiness to sadness.

Gunn was the creator and director of the first season of the superhero show “Peacemaker” on Max, featuring John Cena as the character Peacemaker, who is both violent and sensitive. The initial season also featured Danielle Brooks, Chukwudi Iwuji, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, and Robert Patrick as Peacemaker’s father, White Dragon.
Following the Season 1 finale, Gunn discussed his overall vision for the character and his development in an interview with Variety.
“The most important thing for me in the first season was who Peacemaker was and where was he going,” he said. “What was his personal journey? The Butterflies and the plot and all of that is secondary to who he was as a character and what his changes were, as well as the other characters and where they began and where they end, because they all have little changes for themselves — with the exception of Vigilante, who’s sort of a straight line the whole time. So I know where Peacemaker starts and where he ends, but I’m playing with other ideas around that and how that’s gonna play out.” (ANI)
