The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) resolved the contentious issue of personal coaches, ensuring shooters can focus on their performance. However, the decision came too late for many coaches to accompany their athletes to Munich.
Following intense trials and selections, including the displacement of original Paris quota winners, the federation is eager to evaluate the performance of new additions to the national squad. Notably, rookie Sandeep Singh’s unexpected triumph in the trials poses a dilemma for the federation regarding Olympic selections.
Despite challenges, the NRAI faces pressure to finalize the Olympic contingent promptly, especially as other nations have already announced their squads. The delay could impact shooters’ preparations, particularly in crucial areas like ammunition testing.
