Abha, already adorned with an Asian Championships silver medal, clinched victory with a final throw measuring an impressive 17.93 meters. Her performance underscored her consistent prowess in the discipline, following her national record-breaking achievement of 18.41 meters at the recent Federation Cup athletics meet.

Despite her stellar showing, Abha has yet to breach the Paris 2024 Olympics qualifying mark of 18.80 meters. Nevertheless, her current standing at 27th in the Road to Paris rankings positions her favorably for Olympic contention, with the top 32 eligible athletes by rankings and entry standard securing a spot in the women’s shot put event.

In other highlights from the event, Sachin Yadav set a personal best in the men’s javelin throw, launching an impressive 82.69 meters on his penultimate attempt to claim victory.
